Tuesday, 18 August 2015. Shaftesbury Ferry August 1, 2015. Highway 740 takes you there and the ferry takes you across the Peace River. The first ferry crossing here was built by a farmer in 1951 and the family operated it until the government took it over in 1977. The road heading into the valley suffered a slide at one point. The detour is just to the side. This is not a cable ferry. The ferry is manoeuvred by a tugboat. The tug and barge were built in 1962.

Sunday, November 8, 2009. This issue took place earlier this year and some of you may have already heard about it. Back in February a couple in Wisconsin, Jim and Ginny Maziarka, challenged 58 young adult books at the West Bend Community Memorial Public Library. Instead of banning the books they wanted them moved to the adult section of the library. Both sides gained support in the issue.
